As a company registered in South Africa, you will need a Shareholders Certificate, also known as a Share Certificate, to legally prove the ownership and shareholding within your company.

Although any shareholder in a company can prepare the Share Certificate, a very specific set of requirements must be fulfilled to avoid your Share Certificate being declared invalid by a Court of Law.

What is a Share Certificate?

A Share Certificate is a legal document that proves the ownership of a company. This document is not produced or issued by the CIPC but must be prepared legally, according to a specific format, then maintained and kept in a safe place along with your Company Register and Minute Book.

What do we need to issue your Share Certificate?

When you order your Share Certificate with us, we will request the following documentation from you:

Application form
Certified copy of ID document of each Shareholder.
Company registration document (COR14.3 AND COR15.1A)
Shareholding percentage of each Director (must equal 100%, indicated on application form).
